Welcome to the Nursery at St. James Episcopal Church where we believe that our children are God’s greatest gift!
Located directly across from the church office in the Keeling Building, we seek to provide a safe, Christian atmosphere for the youngest members of our church family. The Nursery provides special care to infants and toddlers that contributes to their well being and complements and strengthens the Christian nurture the child experiences at home. We strive to help your child build trusting relationships and feel a sense of belonging by reaching out in love and understanding.
Staffed each Sunday by professional caregivers, from 9 a.m. until the end of the 10:30 a.m. service. Each week we offer examples of God’s love for us and an introduction to Jesus Christ through age-appropriate Bible stories and activities.
We want our children to feel safe and comfortable in the Nursery and their parents to feel safe and comfortable leaving them. Therefore, the is specifically for our youngest parishioners, only those up to age 3. Older children are invited to attend any of the other age-appropriate opportunities that St. James works to provide on a regular basis.
Parents are always welcome to stay with their children in the Nursery, no questions asked! If parents are needed in the Nursery for any reason, the caregivers will notify an usher or vestry person of the day, who will locate the parent according to the information on the sign-in sheet.
The nursery is also open for special services and other events as announced.

Stop by the nursery when you can and give them a big St. James welcome!
