School Policy

St. James Episcopal School is a non-profit parish school operating
within the framework of the St. James Episcopal Church.
St. James is dedicated to empowering students aged two years through 6th grade to reach their full potential.
Teacher/Student ratios are low so that children can meet or exceed the expectations
of the faculty for mastery and performance.
Children of all creeds, races, and ethnic groups are welcome at St. James.

"St. James Episcopal School is known for its academic excellence and where every child is nurtured and loved for their uniqueness. The Faculty, Parent Association and School Board work together to insure that high standards are maintained and that we continue to be a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow."

Paulette Berry, Former Director/Head of School

St. James Episcopal School students discover the joy of learning.

Each child's natural curiosity is embraced. Our students are motivated to think, explore, examine and create. In gaining an understanding of their world, children learn to accept themselves and others, to make responsible choices and be accountable for their own education.

St. James Episcopal School students are inspired to become lifelong readers and learners.

Immersion in literature and a strong phonics program are effectively combined to develop reading, speaking, listening and writing skills. Math and science come alive through hands-on experiments and the use of modern technology.

Students at St. James Episcopal School are instructed in life skills and problem solving techniques to help build poise and confidence. An emphasis on Fine Arts education and body movement awakens children's imagination, excites their senses and promotes physical awareness and self-control. Spanish, computer and art classes are part of the enriched curriculum.
